Summer Flowers

Here at The Connie Hudson Mobile Regional Senior Community Center (CHMRSCC) has an amazing group of plant enthusiasts called the Flower Divas. They have volunteered their time and energy to design a vision, scout for plants at local nurseries, and have created a beautiful scape using a wide variety of plants for each of the five coffers located across the front of the Center.

With the temperatures and heat index in the high 90’s to triple digits, it is imperative that these beautiful plants are watered regularly, and our Flower Divas check on these beauties daily. They have worked out a schedule with each other to make sure the water system is working, and the plants are getting their daily drinks.

The ladies have used a wide variety of plants including cone flowers, pink Mandeville, Celosias, Angelonia just to name a few. They will add in-seasonal color as needed also spring blooming bulbs. Please stop by the planters during your next visit to the Center to truly enjoy their work.

The Connie Hudson Foundation Board is very proud and excited to sponsor this project. In addition, we want to give a huge “Thank-you” to A Bloom, Stokely’s Express Nursery, Kim’s Nursery, Dutch Brothers Nursery and Lowes Garden Center for helping our Divas get this project started. They have a wonderful selection of healthy plants. We encourage everyone to shop at these nurseries for any of their future gardening needs. Their staff is wonderful, friendly, and very knowledgeable.
